An intense fire or inferno of any sort is one of the most terrifying things anyone can encounter in their life.It is relentless, ruthless yet in some ways purging and cleansing.Smoke, flying sparks, crashing embers and burning heat are just some of the images that are brought to mind in this work.Players will enjoy the momentum of the constant sixteenth notes, the unbridled dissonances, the challenge of changing meters and the brutality of the Bartokpizzicati. The contrasting middle section is eerily still with a reference to the life that can spring forth in the aftermath of a bushfire or similar.
