Description:
A tribute to the tragic French diva Cornelie Falcon by Polish soprano Alexandra Kujak (Kruczak, Kruczak), born in 1977. Entitled "Falcon," it is a tribute to Cornelie Falcon (1814-1897), a 19th century French diva who became the darling of her time but lost her voice after a short period. A contemporary of Pauline Viardot and Malibran, Cornelie Falcon was one of the stars of fine French bel canto. With a rich and powerful lower register and an extremely impressive upper register, she rapidly rose to stardom, only to suffer the tragic fate of losing her voice suddenly and unexpectedly (and on stage). Peacock's selection here includes works associated with Falcon, including arias by Donna Anna and other favorites of Falcon's, as well as works by Berlioz, who was a particular admirer of Falcon. It is a spotlight on one of the most sensational artists in the world of French opera. King International
